| McIntosh HU (MX4000 or 5000)
Audison amps for mid/high
Us Amps for subs
Knukoncepts for wiring
RF power for connecting acc's / maybe Knu to match it all up
Tweeters - either Scan speak revelators or Morel Supremos
CDT/focal/OZ for mid drivers (there's so many mid drivers I like, I can't even make a decision for myself!)
Eclipse or EDesigns subs (I don't know what it is, but they're so sexy!!) [ August 19, 2003, 07:52 AM: Message edited by: Chadxton ] |

| Yes! McIntosh! I almost forgot about them! The ultimate in overpriced "status symbol" in the audio world! (i.e. $7,000 home audio AM/FM Tunner!) while your at it, get some bang and olufson, for no reason either,
Why is it that the older guys all chose proven older equipment, and the young guys just listed off the most costly equipment on the market???? (mostly stuff that 90% of ppl havn't even heard of, and 80% of the ppl who know about it havn't even heard it perform) Just cuz a speaker won an SQ comp. dosn't mean that you can make it do it! They dont time allign themselves you know! And ion top of that, where the hell do they sell it?? Your gonna spend $600 on a pair of 5 1/4's off of the internet, just cuz some guy in the states one with 'em? that dosen't sound like a good investment. Was the marketing campaign that good????? You should all know that its the install that makes the real difference! I dont know what I'd do if I spent $15,000 like some of you and had a great looking, really expensive system, and had it sound like crud. I'm not putting anybody's choice down, I'm just questioning your reasons for choosing those products. |

My dream system contains 3545s though. |

You tell people they hypothetically won the lottery and ask what they would buy. What answers were you expecting? Of course I picked an expensive head unit and processor, because it would suit my needs best not because it's the most expensive. Yes I have heard the Dynaudio's that I would get, in fact I used to own them. The Sinfoni amplifiers are just really good looking to me and if cost was no object what the hell. By the way I am not one of the "young ones here" in fact I owned SUX's head unit combo up until about three years ago, Alpine 7618 and 5959 combo, it was very good but I doubt I would buy it again. I don't need to buy old stuff, my car takes care of the old quota. |

| If money were no object I would buy a brand new black Mercedes G Wagon. Then I'd take all the interior and glass out of it and put it in the dumpster. 2" lexan windows, 1/2" plate steel interior with only a steering wheel and a couple of pedals left. 4 quad juggs, 32 kicker 1200.1's, 64 turbo start 16 volt batteries,3 ohio generator 200 amp alternators, one panasonic 883 and a crystal line driver. Then put some 24" spinners on it. I can already hear the stuck up yuppie punks crying. God I love Db drag.
