| I was told I needed a new altenator for my system, 1800watt mono block, 200 watt digital amp, my new altenator is rated at 130 amps. Once its all put together I will be able to comment on if it needs a capicator. I'm hoping not since the ones I've seen cost $400. |

Your 'new' alternator...how much bigger is it than the stock one that came with the car?

| I think you should have went with a larger alternator if that amplifier is truly 1800 watts ... Like at least 150 A ... |

| Rule of thumb is that you need 1/3 your amps maximum current pull for them to work to full potential with music...
Caps may help your amps produce clean transients, but for the cost involved they are often a waste of time...

| Is it true it's better to use a cap if you use deep cycle batteries? |
