I'm wondering which subs are going to hit the hardest. I have a choice between a pair 12" RE XXX, or a pair of kicker 10L7. Assume that they will be powered by a kicker KX1200.1

the 10l7's will take less power to run.
But the xxx will get very loud, just need to compensate for them huge-a$$ magnets(bigger box)
and add more power!!!

Nah.. with that sort of power the XXX is just begging for more.

The L7's would probably be louder.

I would go with a pair of XXX with some more power. If money is of concern you could pick up a used Memphis Mojo or look for a deal on a pair of JBL1200's. Both of which will likely run you close to the price of the single KX1200.

Be willing to give up most of your trunk though.

If you're stuck on kicker the two 10L7's with a KX1200 is going to be plenty loud though too.

OK Iam no fan of Kicker... infact I had to repair 4 broken tinsel leads on 2 10L7s not very long ago...

But I can attest that the amp in quesion will make 1200RMS... which should be enough for an XXX in a nice big ported box...

I'd probably take the XXX, but output should be similar....

</font>
Read it again buddy

The 1200w amp would be feeding a pair of 12" XXX. Meaning 600w each.

Like I said before, and our resident "sub expert" backed me up with... a XXX needs a lot more than 600w to get loud. You take the xxx's and I'll take the L7's. I guarantee I'll be louder.
