| today i just finished installing my bxi2006d. i previously had a kaption d-700.1 running a pair of 12 dvc 4ohm max calibers 500rms each. the subs are wired to 1ohm, and quite honestly i`m a little dissapointed. i felt that the brutus would drive those subs much harder. granted i still have to play around with the gains and eq, but if there is a difference its not like i had hoped.
don`t get me wrong it still hits very hard (just around a half hour ago i was testing it out and my neighbours across the street came out in a little huff), but i though it would shake those subs to pieces.
any ideas as to why this is so? i upgraded my wiring to 0ga and run an optima yellow top with a big three. the only thing that pops into my head is that it needs more juice (my alt is still stock). |

even assumeing you doubled your power you will have a hard time hearing much a difference cause at most your looking at 3 db's

| ^ he is right, you will only really go up 3dB with that new amp. As for your wiring i would also consider adding a 2 Farad Cap to the system. You did say that you up graded your wiring to 0ga, did you also upgrade your battery ground as well as the wire from your alternator to your battery. Those will also help the power delivery. Definitely start with a Cap. |

Definitely start with a Cap. | i did the re-grounding of the alt when i did the big three last year. i already have a 1farad cap dedicated to that amp, but the money spent on a 2 farad cap would probably be put to better use towards a high output alt. besides i`ve read so many pros and cons of caps i`m still a little undecided on which route to take. |

| Its true i used to find it hard to make a decision on using Caps or batteries. Defiantly go to a bigger alt if you can. What kinda car you got.

| Is there a higher model for your current car. If so you can usually swap for that alt and get a few more amps. In my 98 F-150 XL the stock alt wast around 70amp or so, i went and got the 4X4 XLT alt which was 130amp. |
