Check the fuse on the power wire to the amp, and the amp itself

a kicker sub will most likely, have more power handling then the P1 which is a very entry level sub...future shop entry level at that...your gains may be set too high for those particular subs

Think of this. I you have a heavy foot and do the Pilsbury tire bake off at every stop light and then one day your tires are bald, who's fault is it? Is it the tires fault for being shat or your fault for abusing them?

In the case of your subs, I hate to say it but more than likely it was your fault that they stopped working. A sub does not just arbitrarily go on strike and stop working for higher wages etc. Something must cause it to fail, the root cause of the problem is you and how you either play the system or have it matched together.

I also agree that the P1's subs belong in the trash bin. To me it sounds like the expectations that you have for output levels exceeded the capabilites of the system that you had. Time to come up with a new game plan that will work better for you.

well to see if the coil is fried take a 9v battery and run the speaker leads to it... does the cone move in (or out)... if it does then you still likely have a sub that works... also look and see if the tinsel leads are still attached to the cone... otherwise its a paperweight..
