so i have an alpine cda-9856 deck, with alpine SPS-13C2 speakers... 35 rms 175 peak
with 2 12 phoenix gold octane ZR12 D4 subs
powered by a phoenix gold octane R15.0:1
so when i crank my system up to around 25 and up
the deck restarts
whats up...
when we pull out the deck its hott as hell..
is it just underpowering the speakers... and cant take it?
ill be buying a 4 channel amp soon
will it stop or what?

man i relli dunno, but der could be some rong with the inside of ur deck, something over heating cause with the system the amp has no effect on the deck, "correct if im wrong", the deck jus gives out a output, nd the amp recieve tht signal, so ill say there is something over heatin in ur deck

What wiring did you use in the install of the cd player? The stock wiring in the harness of is this one of the Alpine units that recommends a 10 / 12 gauge power and ground? A 4channel amp is going to help, see if you can also turn off the internal amplifier as some Alpine models allow you to do this. That will get rid of a whole crapload of heat and current draw.

That's one of the things I like about the KW Excelon line as well.....shutting off the internal amp is easy, and it tells you right in the manual that when you do it the output of the RCA's will get more power and give a cleaner signal.....
