make sure u reverse the connections so that the + from the amp goes to the - on the sub and vice versa. Also you dont need to factor in displacement so your box will be a little smaller.

actually, your box gets BIGGER when you invert the sub(s). Sq will be virtually the same, other then you may have some noise from the pole vent, similar to port noise.

I have heard SQ should be the same but there may be a very minimal loss in SQ. If you already have a box then your box gets bigger, if your building a box and planning on inverting the sub you can make your box smaller.

sorry this just sounds a little confusing...how does the box get bigger if i already have one? so your saying that if i was to build a box, then i should build it slightly smaller?

dude, dont even worry about the volume issue. its going to be like a .2 cubic foot difference, and unless your doing a single 8" sealed in .5, your NEVER going to notice the diff.

If you build a box thats 1.4 cubes before displacement and the sub displaces .2 cubes when you mount it normally then your internal volume is 1.2 cubes. If you invert it then its 1.4 cubes because the sub is not taking up space inside the box.

Orion is right that it wont really make a big difference, I just felt i should try and explain it.

Does that really matter if you only have one sub?
