Does anyone know if there is an option with the Alpine CDA-9827 deck's to accomodate my ipod nano ? I've tried just straight RCA to headphone port connection but I either get absolutely no sound, or very faint sound at the head units loudest setting

If it's gonna cost me a lot of money as one shop has already implied I'd rather just buy a new deck. But I figured I'd ask some more knowledgable people first and get an actual answer.

Hmm well I just ordered a new CDA-9885 Alpine HU. It's one of there newer models this year. You can buy a cord for it to plug into your Ipod directly. You can get a FM Transmitter but those kinda suck. Maybe your best bet is to get a newer Alpine model with the cord.

Check it out here dude.

Eliminated my cigarette ligher until I change my centre console (spare one in the new one, under construction) for something else, was the absolute most annoying thing to unclip when taking the bezel outta my cavalier.

keep the responses coming ...

go online at www.alpine1.com and look at the 420ci Ipod adaptor. They have good online manuals and in the manual I am sure there will be a compatibility list. I dont think it will work but check it out.

I have the same HU but all I know is there's an aux input at the back of the HU....It says you have to manually turn aux to on then you can adjust volume by pressing source/power then selecting aux. I think the cable is called V-Link

check the manual on page 12 of this site, under aux mode

http://vault.alpine-usa.com/products/documents/OM%20CDA-9827.PDF

hope that helps,
oh btw the fm tuner on mine cant lock to a signal for about 15-20 mins. I'm about to smash it to smithereens, lol

Your best bet is to sell that deck. And get a newer Alpine HU with the Ipod cable for it!

Thanks man definately gonna check that out. I did go into the deck manually to set aux on, and tried the volume settings and still no luck

Johnny - Been looking at that option a lot, just want to find out if I can spend less and keep this one, and not give in so easily lol
