IMO it depends a little on your listening tastes but I am currently very happy with my MTX components

I too would be looking to Eclipse. Out of all the speakers I can get ahold of, they have not let me down in the tonal response dept and provide great value to the customer.

If you want ear-piercing highs, that JBL and MBQuart are your best bet. Depends on your music tastes too. If you like dance like hip hop or house or trance metal domes are better. If you listen to jazz classical etc, than soft dome is more natural. On and off axis was covered earlier.

That's so un-fair!!!
I have Polk SSRs in my car now...They're awesome....I can't even tell there's speakers in my car, as try as i can to "hear" them, the stage is never at the transducers, but behind me, outside the car, or out on the hood.

Not the most impressive package I've ever heard, but damn nice, given the mediocre install I dedicated towards them.

I really don't have an awesome system...18 Watts to the comps and maybe a couple hundred to the sub.

But I can hear what they could sound like if they had free reign. Hard to say which choice would rule, since it's a lot more install related than product dependant.
