yea 7mm xmax and only 10s to boot... youd better go ported if you want to break 125db.. lol..

for 1 bill you probably made out OK.. but Ive seen mint JLWO's go for the same price.. (probably a much better woofer IMO)

I'm curious Haunz as to why you would make a comparison between these two drivers?
I would imagine you have auditioned the XPL since you have made your opinion known on it so which series was it and what size of enclosure and power was it seeing?

Since when is xmax the yardstick by which all woofers are judged, also.

Since when were Kicker XPLs old skool woofers...

Kicker C and F series are old skool woofers... Circa 1993

I remember selling those back in the day. Got a ton of them back with blown coils. If I remember right, they were a pretty inexpensive sub that got fairly loud. Still a good find for 100 bux.

Hey, I went onto Bassbox pro, and I whipped up a really good box design. It'll do (very very roughly) 127 db. As it said. It'll have an F3 at 51 hz.
The box dimensions I'll be giving you. are outside external dimensions. That includes the thickness of the wood (.75" mdf), it also includes the port size, and the volume loss of the sub itself. here are the dimensions
64 cm wide by 41cm tall by 27cm deep. Thus a net internal volume of 50 liters (about 1.8 cubic feet)

You can either use this sealed, or ported, the response is much the same, but if you do decide to use this box ported, then you'll need 2 (two) 2" ports, that are 11cm long each.

Hope this helps. This box design is the best I came up with for high fidelity. If you just want bass that is deep, then this box will work, it'll be about three dbs louder from 65hz and below

Its a net internal volume of 73 liters (2.5 cubic feet) with two 2" ports, that are 8.7 cm long

Yeah, Its a good deal, but you can always find REALLY good deals sometimes. I had a pair of 12" solobaric (grey cone style) SVC 4 ohms for $25 each, that was cool. Great shape. Cash Canada Pawn here in Calgary (multiple locations) are great for good deals, I found a Ground Zero radioactive 15 DVC there for $50 with box, same place I got the Solobarics too (17th Ave SE location)
I had a 12" version of that 1997 XPL 12, it rocked, picked it up for $40, sounded awesome, had it for years, but after a while, it was kicked around a lot in the back of my extended cab S-10, so the surround on it was swiss cheese, so I gave it to a CCA member in Kitchener not too long ago. (I forget his user name)
