I agree he did OK for mint woofers at $50 each.. but they wouldnt be my first choice....
Both series XPL's? Again what kind of power and enclosure's for your experience?

IMO, the XPL's and old round Solo's sounded much better SQ wise than the W0's and the round Solo's can do pretty decent numbers with some power and a ported enclosure (although not my first choice for SPL I wouldn't choose the W0 over them).
Just ask Loud Brown Kicker Colt on here regarding the round solo's and his SPL scores with them.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!!

Spoken from experience no doubt

W0's can hang with deez nutz.....a W0 won't touch a Solo.....new or old. When was the last time you saw a 15W0 hit 138 in a small sealed box with 200WRMS each? I've never heard of it happening, not even close, but my old Solo 15's will do it and MUCH louder with more power.
That's what I think of your W0's.

Ive owned 12 and 15 solos (old) and they both sucked azz... I blew the 12 with less then rated power and tore the 15 to **** trying to get some decent volume... the MA XE 15 that replaced it worked it over and still runs today...

FYI, my buddy dave had those xpls in his first system on a zapco ag350.. they sucked azz.. he later upgraded to solos but the dumb azz kicker dealer sold him a 4ohm and an 8ohm sub for some reason... funny story, same guy bought L7s and a kx1200 After having THREE bad amps(from a bad factory run) he got a good one... after 3monthes he tore the leads out of the L7s (which I fixed) and sold them.. they were in .8cubes each (supposed to be fine according to kicker) and sounded like hot azz... I can imagine how long they would have lasted in a good sized box..

I have a few more experiences I could share... and they dont get much better...

A speaker will not perform properly unless it has enough power and the box is built to spec.

Kicker is a very reputable car audio company, no ifs and or buts.

Kicker is excellent equipment, just because your buddy had a problem with them, either because he can't install, or he got a dud, doesn't mean they suck.

That's like saying because you got a single bad tweeter in a Focal Utopia set(which BTW won't happen) Focal is ****. yea right pal, gimme a break.....all you gotta do is look at the YEARS of world records Kicker has set and right off the bat someone that knew very little about subs/car audio would know even without hearing them they must be awefully good.

BTW I've heard of a lot people complaining about the L7s, but I don't know ANYBODY that doesn't like the round solo's.

Hell, I invite you to come on out with your W0's and we'll put them against my Solo's.....I'll bet you $10,000 my Solo's last longer, get louder and sound better.
