Yea, I'm not debating that JL makes a fine product, and obviously their reputation in the car audio scene reflects this, but they ARE over priced for what you get.

I remember when the W6v2 came out, it was like 800 bucks for a 10. You can get a 12" L7 for 500 and IMO, despite the complaints I heard of, the L7 is a better sounding and louder sub.

umm its not much of a mystery to me...

Brandon there is a differene between a recone and replacement under warranty.. Ive never called kicker to find out if they offer recones but this isnt the first time Ive heard that they DO NOT..... Ill go ahead and call tomorrow so I can verifiy that....

Iam not the only person around who will tell you that kicker isnt the greatest. Personally their dumb **** marketing fluff is enough to make me hurl.. some of you guys seem like you must buy right in....

Well, whatever, most systems are %90 install anyway... so Iam not saying you cant do awsome stuff with kicker gear... some of you guys need to simmer down and listen to an opinion without letting your egos get hurt cause you own a certain product...

My subs were reconed....not under warranty, I know what I'm F-ing talking about man, I've been around long enough that I know Kicker does recones. The only company I've heard of that wont do recones is Alpine because I tried to get my Alpine Type R 10 reconed and they said no.

Haunz why do you feel the need to prove yourself right at the expense of all others?

It gets old very quickly, regardless of the validity of your points, because you go about it in such an immature and irritating way.

No Haunz your answers and opinions are weak.
You state a product is sh!t. When asked if you've used XPL's you state "yes I've used new and old" when in reality your buddy used the product in question.
Well the XPL as with the original Solo are fairly inefficient drivers and need to be properly powered to perform at proper levels. You buddy was giving his drivers less than half of their rated power. I wonder why they were unimpressive huh?
I feel you're making a blind comparison and passing along incorrect information to a user looking for info.

Personally I'm not a fan of Kicker or JL although they do have some well performing products.
So what exactly am I assuming Haunz?

Ive owned a few pair of kicker speakers 6x9s 6.5s old solo 12, 15, 12 comps and L5s... Ive done repairs on L7s and L5s and reconed compvrs.. ive listened to and been involved in countless other kicker systems using both amps and subs old and new...

you act as if Ive never used or experienced thier product or know how to make a proper enclosure or ever talked to other people including dealers about the products performance...

this all gets back to same BS in the last p*ssing match about some brand name... just because I dont have extensive experience with a specific model I still have experience in general...

Furthermore Id consider any subwoofer with 7mm xmax mediocre at best.. did you guys happen to catch the guy who used to sell those xpls mention they came back blown all the time ???

Wow.. I am really off base...

NOT...

LOL the guy who likes JL says that kicker's too hyped... I'll admit that the soloX hype is a little too much, but JL has been the kings of hype for a long time.

Yeah, I've heard of a Treo CSX12 being blown, I guess that means they're crap subs huh? a 1200 watt sub taking 6000 watts RMS, but since one blew, one time, that must mean they're all garbage subs eh? Oh and Treo must suck too eh?
Team BS used 16 of the CSX12's, to create 177.7db in their Volkswagen Van, as they were given 6000 each for the whole season, including DB deathmatch, but they are still crap eh because one guy fried his. Man oh man, talk about opinion without the knowledge to back it up. If I dont know something about something, I shut up and listen, not make myself look like an idiot in front of everybody
