I wanted to get this mp3 player to could hook it up to my car when I'm at home and carry all of my songs on the go:



I wanted to know if anyone has any opinions on it and if they know any other models that are better. The things that I like about this model are:

• 40gb capacity (I could put ALL my music on it)</font>
• rechargeable battery</font>
• and the obvious about being an mp3 player</font>

All my songs right now on my computer take up 10gb. I want to transfer all my cd's to mp3 so that would probably take up another 10-15 gb. I'm going to use the AUX input at the back of my deck so I need to get an AUX to headphone jack conversion from Radio Shack first.

I have that exact model mp3 player. Got it about a year ago. Being able to replace the battery is nice too. All you do is pop the top off and you can put a new one in if the first battery ever goes bad. It lasts a good eight hours off the charge too. Of course if it's in your car you could simply have it plugged in the whole time and it'd never run out.

It's a very good player in my opinion. It's not as fragile or easy to scratch up and break like the iPod's are. They are also quite a bit cheaper than the iPod's and you get just as much out of them if not more. The sound is great too. The mp3's play back crisp and clear. As well as it's very easy to use on the PC. You just drop and drag all the songs you want on it. If you want all your songs on it you can simply select all your songs and copy them to the device. You can also store anything else you want on it. Such as programs or files. It works great if you want stuff backed up so you have it in two places just in case!

I haven't seen any bad comments on the Nomad's and read good reviews on it.

that looks pretty cool. its too bad you dont have an alpine headunit. you could run the ipod interface and hook it right up to your deck and be able to control it and all that cool stuff right from the headunit. just threw one in my car a very very cool toy indeed.

I have a 40 gig ipod and am very happy with it. I haven't heard/read any complaints on the Nomad stuff.
