I just realized the kit comes with an unfused d-block. Would it really be necessary to have a fused one with the 9awg being such short lengths? If so, could I use 1/2 the amp fuses as in the amps? ie. amp1=40a could I use a 20a fuse since the block is 1' away from the amp?

Sorry for all the ?'s but no other place to turn but the net.

No need to fuse the amp at the dist block, a single fuse within 18" of the battery is all you need.

You can use a Capacitor 1 farad at least, and use the positive terminal like distribution to 3 points or more depends on your ability. Even you can use 8 gauge from there to your amps.

I picked up some "supplies" today. I have the 8ga now and some heavy duty monster RCA's. You saying run the main power 4ga to cap and split it off twice to 8ga? This eliminates using a d-block altogether?

exactly...even you can split with 4, or even 0...You can use a 0 gauge ring terminal, and put two 4...just solder it. If you have the rca monster Rca, ok, but I use to use the regular, even in competitions cars!!!!

I think I will go with using a 1F cap. I can get a GOOD deal on one and it will save me from getting a d-block later when I connect the 4ch amp.

Why don't I need to fuse from the cap > amp? What happens if a cap "goes bad" stops working, etc, do the amps just turn off?

Thanks for the tips!!

you could always use a 1 awg disytro block that spilits into 2 4 awg runs cuzz the 4 awg wire will clamp in the 1 awg spot easily

what about a distro block with multiple 4ga. inputs?? if he's got it all fused up at the battery, just put 1 - 4ga in and 2 - 4 ga out...the power is all intermingled anyway...
