This was seconded by the former sales manager for the only Visions car audio department that didn't suck (IMO). She said that a pair of 10s or single 12 in a nice compact box will sound just as good and get just as loud.
I would listen to a few options before buying.
And yes, I think Alpine nuked it because it didn't sell very well. |
The whole idea behind the PLT-5 was to give you the output of two 10" woofers in a very small package, which I think it achieved quite nicely. Sure you can do
similar configurations and get
similar results, but I think you're missing the point. This was designed for people that want a simple solution without having to figure out which sub/amp/box combo is the best....they just want something that is simple to hook up, doesn't take up a lot of space, and gives great sounding bass.
