They'll give you grief? Funny, in the 3 I have worked in what happens is you take your woofer and your receipt to the customer service desk, tell them the woofer is hooped and one of two things happens:

1) They exchange it immediately without even looking at it - provided they have one in stock.

2) They get an installer or decent salesguy to test the woofer first and if blown replace it immediately.

Usually you get #1 unless an installer or salesguy notices the CSR snagging a new woofer and gets curious

IS it that easy? Is their any test that they would specifically perform? Sorry for all the questions but I just want tp be prepared for any stunts that they would or might pull

He doesn't want to return it - just exchange it. It won't affect the original salesperson's commissions unless the CSR deliberately changes it - and then the salesperson finds out almost immediately and kills the CSR

You get a little more hassel on returns than exchanges but you need to see it from the company's point of view too: they now have a used product they have to sell again at a discount while the cost did not change.

Why do you suspect it is blown - just because it smelled? Woofers may do that the first few times you really run them hard. Since you have a DVC I would connect each coil individually to your amp and run the woofer at HALF or lower power just to make sure it works. If both coils make sound, and you are not getting any weird mechanical rubbing noises, the sub is fine.

Thanxs for all the replies guys, much appreciated. Anways, I just called one of my friends at Best Buy and he knows the guys @ FS, so no problemo, subs replaced brand new. But I think I want to switch up and go with some L5's or Comp VR.

Thanxs anways
