I look at it this way.

My subs (the ones that I own, that I bought, that I spend my time, my money, and my resources on) are the best.

Sure there are loud, bigger, more powerful subs out there, they always are -- but their not in my car, my subs are, so as far as I am concerned, they are the best.

I think everyone else has the "best" subs in their cars too.

If you're 25, rich, single, male, maybe a Ferrari Enzo is best.
Married, 2 young kids, soccer mom, maybe a Jeep Cherokee is best.
Hey, I take offense to that.
I am a single 27 yr old male who drives a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Are you trying to imply something with this comment of yours?

Well, you didn't list rich as one of your attributes. Tht could be it. And I think by rich it's on the level of having bought at least one of each new model Ferrari for the last two decades, that might get you on the buyers list.

Yeah, there are a lot of variables to consider when answering this question. Although I can provide my humble oppinion on subwoofers..

One of the best subs I've ever heard is an IDQ10 v2 in a .55 cuft sealed box.

I can also vouch for the good ol' JL Audio 10W6 and 12W6.

I second those kicker solobarics also
great subs.

Ok, I'll slap the dead horse again........... IT'S ALL IN THE INSTALL!!!! Doesn't matter what you buy.......... if you don't install it properly in a properly built box, it's junk. And don't get caught on the BONER bus like on a few of the boards south of the border with the
flavour of the day. BEST thing is go and listen. IF you like, find out what it is, how it was built/installed and what power was put to it.

And forget that Enzo........ give me that new Porsche unit or find me one of those Honda Rune motorcycles !!!!

The best sub... heheh.. I do have my opinions, but my answer to the best sub-system..

25 Focal Utopia 5.25's (not their woofers), a big sealed enclosure, about 3,000W and a good 1/6 octave EQ...

Let nature take its course from there...
