GM should pay for warranty work performed outside the dealer network. Call GM Canada to confirm this, but I've seen it happen in the past. Ask em who pays if you have an epileptic siezure from the flickering dash lights. [ November 17, 2005, 12:25 PM: Message edited by: Starterwiz ] |

Anyways, to update an old post, I had a new alternator installed and it has fixed all the rapid pulsing in my lights. According to the shop, it was AC voltage getting through the alternator. So I have now gone back to the dealer and provided a receipt for the new alternator and asked to get it covered. Hopefully I will get something reimbursed. Old (well 6 month old) piece of junk. http://www3.sympatico.ca/bradandpaul...alt_before.jpg New and upgraded beast. It's a CS144. http://www3.sympatico.ca/bradandpaul.../alt_after.jpg From the picture you can only see the stock alternator power wire. There is a 0 gauge wire that is loomed and hidden in behind. The new CS144 works a lot better at idle and has much higher output when it is on the highway as well ! Later, Brad |
Did the "stealership" cover the cost of the new alternator? |
