I have a JL 3 way set using only the the crossovers that came with them. The amp is running full. Will adding an active crossover help at all, and if so how?

Thanks

How vague a question....

If you were to add an active xover, that would require you having a seperate channel for every speaker. Do you have 6 channels?

I say you are fine with the passive that comes with the unit.

When you go all active, you usually get great control over all of the drivers, you decide or "tune" how much power everyone gets, and you also control the frequency at wich each speaker is cut off at. You get a lot more versatility and probably better SQ (though not very noticable).

No, I don't have six channels available. I'm just running 2 channels front right and left.
I was just wondering because I'm always hearing how 24db octave crossovers are very helpful and I thought it might help me setup. Hey but If it won't more money in my pocket

The only active xover you could add to your current setup would be one to highpass that amp at 60-80hz to save the midbass from the sub frequencies. If your amplifier has this built in it should suffice.
