one more thing though... anybody know where to get your alternator rebuilt for more amps?
(leads to another question)
how many amps would i need to safely run this system? |

I would kinda disagree with Fusion. The normal factory alternators well may be just be enough for the "factory" car. That being said more power potential is allways better than less in turn draining the complete system. Over kill here I don't think would hurt. The cold, heat, air conditioning, rear defrosters and not to mention the cold well don't make our cars the "ideal" for this topic.
Point @ hand. Our old school Mini came with 4 factory fuse's and a wopping 31 amp alt. Now the 4 fuse's show how simple the car "was". The simple 31 amp alternator truly didn't keep up with the simple car even with proper wireing and a yellow top. I had the opertunity to upgraid the alternator to over 180amp. and all the power problems that were now didn't. I'm the first to say that 31 to 180+ was a bit much yet if I don't ask for the charge it don't . I get the same physical engine power as before and the millage hasn't suffered either.
Simply put. Over kill to a point. Here it can't hurt now can it?
