Probably a noob question. I want to run my factory speakers off deck power, but would like them to handle only mids and highs. Can I get a deck that has a crossover feature that works for the speaker level outputs, not just the preouts?

Looking at this one:

Look for a deck that has a separate sub-out. Those have separate crossovers from the main preouts.

We're talking about the same thing right? I need a high pass crossover on the deck power speaker out leads.

I'll use a low pass RCA preout for the subs, but the door speaks need to be run highpass off the deck power, if it can be done.

Yes, some decks will have presets so you can highpass deck power at 50hz,80hz,120hz or some variation...

some may have more extensive controls then others..

it says that it has a built in crossover, so i would imagine that it does.

I am pretty sure that the Clarion only has a low pass crossover, not a high pass......

Most Pioneer CD players made in the last two years have both high pass & low pass crossovers.

Audio Control makes the perfect interface for you, using ANY high level input, it will separate low-high and give you level adjustment for both. Look at the Audio Control LC6 , to start.
