| also the fosgate/denon platinum 2000 is out of my price range, even though its a steal at 400 u.s.
Isnt it like 1200 regularly? |

| Well, it all depends on what you call cheap?
If I were do buy a new deck right now, lines I would be looking at are:
Eclipse (its what I am running right now)
Nakamichi
Denon
They all come in different price levels and you don't have to spend your first born to get one. To be completely honest, for $299 US I would have a hard time passing up the Rockford Fosgate deck on Sounddomain right now. IMO the thing looks absolutly wicked because its so simple. But it will knock the pants of of most decks out there right now. Esprcially for the price. Here's the link: http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ROCRFX8250 |

| Also don't forget personal taste varies. I personally don't like flashy decks, so the Dennonford would be my first pick, I like classic understatement. Some people like flashy whiz bang displays. If that's what you like, that's what you should get. |

| I completely agree with you Dereck. I guess there is somthing inside me that just shudders when someone chooses form over function. |

| Ha, if you want just looks, buy Panasonic.
You'll lose respect from many here, but hey, you'll have a cool looking bad sounding CD player!!
Sometimes flashy decks make me envy the blind, but that's just me.
Eclipse or Alpine, that's my suggestion. They're BOLD, but not 100% flashy. |

| ^ Isnt it great we have pictures back again!?
the Rockford 2000 is a sweet product, some would ask for more flexability (or a black faceplate) but I may pick one up as a spare for my McIntosh MX406, it is that good. |
