I'd like to change the stock low pass crossover frequency of my Xtant 1001d from 90 Hz to 120 Hz. I've discovered this is done with SIP resistors. Does anyone know where to get these? I think they can be made but I certainly wouldn't know how to make them.

Furthermore, if someone knows how to make these would they make one for me? I don't know how much money they're worth but I'd compensate for materials and time.

if its anything like the modules phoenix gold uses, all they use is like 7 resistors in a DIP header to create the freq cutoff, it shows in the manual how to make them, can you take an SIP apart?

Guess who might just have some of these XTANT SIP modules? If I rmember right I found a box full of them when I was cleansweeping the stockroom. I'll have a look to see what I have.

I don't really even know what an SIP is. If it doesn't require any soldering or anything serious I could probably do it myslef.

As for your stockroom, that'd be awesome if you could look Rob. I'll wait for your reply.

click "contact us"; there is a live support line.

Tell them which frequency sips you want. They will mail it to you right away for free.

They have been very good with me.

Yeah I've used the live support over the net and they were also very helpfull for me. I'll contact them on Tuesday and see what happens. Thanks for the tip.

Why don't these companies (xtant,kicker,PG, whoknowselse) make thier amps so you can adjust the crossover controls with a dial [img]graemlins/freak.gif[/img]

Because, Chip set resistors are more accurate, dont degrade over time(dust,dirt ect..) Audio control used them as well.

But what they should do is include multiple chips for free in the box to make it easier.

Talked to an Xtant representative over the online chat today and he's sent a 120 Hz SIP in the mail.
