i have wasted the $$ i went and thought i would be able to get the 18$ that they lie to u and tell u can make with in a year of getting your MECP i have been in the car audio scene for just under 5 years and known for great work but still 13.75 is the best that i have ever got. and shit that was when i was the 12volt manager of a car customizing shop. and i had 3 installers under me. i am from the oshawa whitby area and that i know of there is only 3 guys that make over 15$ perhour as an installer and they have been in the scene for over 15 years and been with the same shops for that same amount of time.

not to scare you away from car audio but if you are a younger person that is looking to have fun and get paid to listen to music and maybe work on some cool cars , then this is the job for you and that is what i wanted but now that i am getting into my mid 20's i am realizing that this is starting to be more of a hobby then a career or job. the pay is well ummm crap out here at least maybe toronto area pays better but then u have gas and travel time and parking and crap so the grass is not as green on the other side of the wall but now if you get a job in cali or florida or the warm states then i think you will be making some good $$.

like the others have said. the 7k would be better spent on some thing better that will give you a future.

also when i went there in 2006 it was only 4600$ for the 8 week class and they paid for us to go to the toronto auto show and speed o rama

some thing you can do is READ FREE stuff on the net
Car Alarm, Car Stereo, Mobile Video, and Cruise Control Info for Installers is a good one and i am sure there is many more

if you REALLY REALLY want to work at hack buy or future hack you can take the MECP test with out taking the course to i think it is 100$ or some thing like that
