| i was considering a career/job as an audio installer and came across mobile dynamics and went for a tour... really i cant justify spending 7 grand on schooling for a job that pays aprox 10.50 an hour and the tour guy talked alot about getting hired at best buy or future shop if i go this route and pay for school i want something more around 16-18 an hour.
do you think its worth the price? |

| good luck getting anything more than 15 an hour, and even then you'll need experience

| It all depends on what type of shop you want to work at. Future shop, Best Buy, Etc. and you will need to have the MECP certification. I hired a new guy at Christmas straight out of high school, the only experience he had was a semester of co-op, but I got to train him the way I want him to do things. The more he can do the more money he can make. He is already at the $10.50/h mark and it has been 4 months.

| definately not. At that rate you can easily get a better job without doing any further schooling. If you want to go to school pick a program that will allow you to increase your earning potential once you are done. You could go to school for dental assisting for one year and make 18 an hour easily enough so I don't see the reason to spend the same money on school and earn less. Of course thats just an example but you get my point

| i like the idea of doing that type of job but i make over 16 an hour now so i think i'll just play with my own car and let everyone else take theres to a "professional" . no disrespect to the people that make a living doing this stuff but in reality it's like going to school to learn to flip hamburgers for mcdonalds... its the type of job that i think is better learned in a work place rather then in a private school but thats just the opinion i am getting from it |

| NO!!!!
its a complete rip off.. you can go to community college for a year for the same price, and take something usefull.. You cannot learn everything in 8 weeks, it takes years to master this craft..
or you can pay 8 grand to learn how to install alarms, and calculate sub box volumes go ahead!
an Iasca world champion, and respected shop owner once told me, that either you can do this or you can't, the schooling means nothing.. if you have the aptitude, a good shop will be willing to take you under their wing, and show you the ropes!
I have seen some of the clowns that come from that school, 8 weeks of training and they think they are Steve Brown. of course there are exceptions to this, but this is my experience. |

| 10.50an hour to install. holy ****. Maby its just kelowna but you better make more that that flipping burgers. I cant say what ours guys make but 10.50 in no where in sight. and I went and took the tour also. I flew there from bc and my opinon is dont go. find a good shop to work at and start as there bitch if you have too. you will be way better off. 10.50 an hour as the bitch sounds allright. Also you dont need mecp to work at future shop. they just tell you that. kelown's future shop doesn't have a single person working there now who has.

| Dont waste your time. Mobile Dynamics is not worth it, we never hire anyone that has just that. You need REAL experiance, just try to get into a shop and start at the bottom, thats what I did, 12 years ago...lol. Co-op is actually a good way to get your foot in the door, and best thing is its FREE. A good installer can make decent money. It all comes down to experience, you cant learn that in 6 weeks.
