Hey guys,

I joined on here about 2 years and asked for some help with a decent starter package, ended up getting off smartass.biz, got great deal for the time...

Anyway, I car got broken into last week, everything stolen of course.

Deck ripped out, center console destroyed, amp ripped off the back of my back seat where it was mounded, subs gone, wiring's torn to hell - viscous people

Heres my old order....

Products
1 x JBL - CS300.1 $200.00
1 x Dual 10" Box - SPECIAL DEAL - With Sub Purchase $50.00
2 x Ultimate - T2SW10 $140.00

Looking to get my new order off ebay, but I'm really not to sure what to look for. I can see great prices on a lot of different things, but really not to sure what to go with.

I'd like to upgrade my sub woofers to something better, thinking I might go with 2 12's this time, and a more powerful amp. Should I get a 2 channel amp, or just a powerful mono and bridge it? Deck I got covered..will get locally.

Price for subs, I'd like to keep each sub around 100$ (before shipping, etc) on ebay, which seems easily do-able to something better than I had.

Amp i'd like to keep around 200ish, also off ebay...which seems also do-able

As far as a box goes, I think the weight of shipping on it will kill the "money savings" online - I was lucky to get free shipping on everything from smartass.biz. I may just get a design plan and have a friend build it for me if its cheaper than buying one locally.

Got any ideas guys? Sorry for the long post

stick to a mono amp. have a box built or build one yourself for you new subs you'll get way better bass that way.... as for what to buy... well like you said theres a ton to choose from hahahaha

this sub/box package is like $400 i think? and thats from a shop and the damn box is 200 on its own hahaha and will do 144.6db on TL all damn day and its pretty good on music... these subs are entry level and its running off a 1200 watt amp... so really with the money you have you shouldn't have a problem setting up off ebay.

Theres some Pioneer subs and Kenwood subs on ebay that look around my price, that have good wattage peaks/ohms....are they reputable at all when it comes to subs? My friend said he had a pair of pioneers that caught on fire after 2 days use. He's stictly an Alpine fanboy though.

well if you're ebaying it, you can get 2 Alpine type r 12's for under 200.00, and a Hifonics bxi 1208 for 204.00. That's the same combo I've had for 3 years now, and it sounds great, and gets plenty loud. Those subs are 230.00 each retail(actual retail), and that amp would be about 500.00. Get a custom built sub box for 200.00, and you're good to go.

^^I like that, i'll look into it.

And no my subs/amp were not visable from outside - hell my deck you'd have to look HARD for from outside - since I still have the FACTORY unit on the eye level center console....but had my alpine deck install low right by the shifter - I could pop open my cup holder lid and it could cover 90% of the unit.

ps no pictures that I know of , maybe on some old cell phone of mine. Only receipts. Could take some pictures of the carnage though, as my car still isnt fixed.

just remember if you go with this set up, you have to get dual 4 ohm type r's, so that you wire the two of them to 1ohm final. that hifonics amp produces 1200 watts at 1ohm. Just thought I'd remind you.
