| hey guys been checking out your board for awhile and decided to join. I want some feedback on a potential system for my 2004 maxima se. I'm thinking of going with a DD 3515, and an alpine pdx 1000 to power it. Front and rear components maybe Boston pro 60, with an alpine pdx 4.150 to power it. Head unit will be an Alpine w205 double din. Electrical will be 0 gauge power and ground, with red top battery and bos will be to DD specs for the 3515 ported ofcourse. I'm looking for sql, so any suggestions would be great. What do you think of my set up? Will the DD spec'd box sound good, or do i need to tune it lower? I may also end up putting in a center channel for movies, but for now I want a good sound system set up. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |

| great equipment, solid performance from all those brands and models. The DD box will get loud and sound good. I've heard a few DD subs in the recommended box, and they all sounded really good. What type of music do you listen to?

| mostly electronic, techno, and trance, so you think the DD box will be good for that type of music as recommended? A buddy told me that you can power those subs with 2x there rated rms, is that true? |

| yeah, should be perfect for that type of music...in fact the ones I heard were playing electronic music by Trentmoller...very heavy, deep, pulsating bass. You can over power those subs, if you know what you're doing. They are very tuff subs and can easily handle short term power well in excess of their rated rms input. I would err on the side of caution though and stick to the recommended rms by the manufacturer. At least if you damage the sub, it's not from doing something they didn't recommend. Anyway, 1000+ watts into a 3515 will get pretty damn loud for daily use.

| yeah hes right... i've seen what 35 series DD's can do and they can take power for days and days, you just have to be aware of what your subs are doing |

| Go for Yellow Top, and lose the Red Top battery. |

| yellow top, i thought they were only better for playing your system with the engine off?? I thought a good cranking battery was better for musical peaks?? I think I'll stick with the Alpine pxd 1000 anyway, as I don't want to take up all the space in the trunk. I thought I'd mount the amps on the sides of the trunk since they're so small. I'm going with a 3.0 cube box with a 48 square inches by 16 inches port. Boston pro's are going in stock locations with the front tweets on the A pillar. |

| It is your amp's job to handle musical peaks. |
