How do you find out you amplifier power, for CSPL?

The reason im asking is because I thought that it was determined by manufacturer's ratings. Apparently not?

I bought a us amp md2d with the intention of competing in the 1500w or less, since it was rated at 1500w. I was even told by a reliable installer it was only capable of 1200w. I guess I screwed up in my research.
In my first competition I was told the amp was actually 2000w which forced me into expert class where I had no chance.

So basically if I do decide to stay and compete that means I have to buy a new amp again. But how can I determine the power, according to CSPL regulations?

Here is a link to the specs of the amp http://www.usamps.com/md_amps.html

it's a 1500 watt amp. Print the specs off of the US Amps website and bring them to the next CSPL comp. Problem solved.

your right, sorry bout that, youll be classed in amateur next show. thanks for the link. Its hard for us to know the rms ratings of every amp out there lol. Best idea as yuli said is to simply bring a spec sheet. Amps with no power markings and a model that really has no hint of power output is hard to determine what it actually is.

You can ask CSPL staff to call up the guy who got 2nd in the class you were supposed to be in and ask him to return the trophy. Then they would call up the guy who got 3rd and tell him to bring his trophy back as well. This way the guy who got 2nd will get the 3rd place trophy and you can get the 2nd place trophy. But the guy who had 3rd will be left with out a trophy, so to make him happy as well, the CSPL staff will build him a trophy out of paper, it will be a 4th place trophy.

Let me check into the scores and see if you would have placed second in AMA 2 and if so I will make you a trophy.

lol lets just make trophys for everyone and call it a civic meet! We took the word of a former usamps dealer on what the rated power of the amp was, as i said there was no way for us to know what the power was with no documentation or markings on the amp itself. For all we knew it could have been 3000 watts, or 300 watts. But im sure rich will do something for you to rectify the mistake.

Im sorry if I made the trophy thing a big deal. At this point im confused whether you guys are serious about helping me, or just scoring off me from Yuli's sarcasm. I guess for someone like me who is a car audio enthusiast and has never competed or won a trophy before, it would mean a lot to me, especially if its my first one.
I apologize if I came unprepared, I never knew I had to be armed with a documentation of system specifications. Like I said it was my first time competing so I dont know everything that happens, but at least I know for the future. Actually if someone wants to help me, how do they calculate the scoring/standings? I just wanted to verify if I would have indeed placed 2nd.
