| Alright, I'm thinking about putting tint on my front side windows. It's illegal in Alberta but I know alot of people who have it, and they dont seem to have any trouble. Than again I know alot of people who have it and get busted all the time. Before I go apply this tint, any recommendations on what's a good % match-up for front and backs, possibly havin the front a little bit lighter than the back to make getting out of tickets simpler, and any pulled-over strategies to avoid a tint ticket? |

Why would you even do have it put on. DON'T BOTHER |

| I have 25% on the back and 55% on the front. Last time that I was pulled over, the cop asked me roll up my windows and he took a look. I simply told him that I knew it was illegal, but I purposly did the lightest tint I could to make a compromise between his safety and the comfort in the car. He said it was ok with him. 55% is very light tint and easy to look through.
If you are getting pulled over, dont try to hide it (Leave your window 1/4 up) and when he walks up to the car, have the lights inside on and your hands on the steering wheel. It puts many officers at ease to know you are no risk to them. Most often if they know you are thinking of their safety they will be fair to you.
Oh, and if he haggles you, or tells you that he is going to give you a ticket, just take it...you knew it was against the law, take the consequences if they come... |

| yeah, i've heard that the only way front tinting is legal is if it comes from the factory like that. you can't do it yourself. (same laws in sask) its mostly cuz we live in a predominantly winter climate, and the police can see what you're doing in your car. when you go down to arizona or some of the southern states you can have pretty much any tint you want on the sides, and most people do, just because its so damn hot under the sun.
