puts out alot of power at 4 ohms. if you get a good price sounds good however usually best to go class D for subs cuase then you have option of going 2 ohms or 4 ohms.

That is not an accurate or correct answer.

I have not seen an Earthquake in a long time (felt one last week though <our Island is sinking&gt. If this amp is as big as it claims to be it should have fusing of somewhere around 80-100 amps. It's 4 ohm stereo power is going to be up around 175w rms x 2 and close to 350w rms x 2 in 2 ohm stereo. It sounds like a big nasty powerhouse. The last Earthquake amps I sold was back in 1994 and they were bulletproof back then, don't know about now. If the deal is good and the amp will drive the load properly, that is all that counts. I also agree with what XiphOid stated, 4 ohm mono is a great way to run a sub system and it's how subs were run for years before this class D garbage came about.

This amp will be stable to a 4 ohm mono load and should deliver boatloads of power. Check the fuse size for me please to verify the output capabilities.

In order to lay waste to your friend it will be all about the box and how the subs perform in your car. As your car is different than his , it should also produce a different output. If you are all about SPL, there are numerous subs to consider. That said though, getting loud gets boring, especially when you want to listen to your music as you are going to work each day.

A pair of 4 ohm dvc 12's wired in a series / parallel setup will yield a net 4 ohm load that is safe for the amplifier to run. What kind of vehicle is this going in and how much room can you give for the enclosure?

i have a 95 neon... ill put pretty much any box that'll fit in the trunk as logn as i have some room for a few bahs and maybe a coat or two so i dont need much trunk space at all..

i dont exactly want all out SPL, i need a mix of SPL and SQ but more towards the SPL side.

I'd look for something class D... something more effecient...

neons don't have very big alternators...
