I can't find any place taht has the JBL single GTO1204BP hooked up. So I'm wondering if anyones heard any of these?
Right now I have two Pioneer TS-W255C in a single sealed box. I'm finding that the Pioneers seem to just be making noise not actual bass.
I'm wondering if this

will sound any better for rock/metal music(Marylin Manson, Rob Zombie,AC/DC,etc)
I know what sounds good is alot of personal preferance but like I said I can't find anyone with these and I can't find anything in a search on here so any help is apreciated.

i dont know if its the install the guy did but he had 2 12" JBL GTO in a sealed box and that was just noise lol. i was quite disapointed. ( it sucked monkey balls big time )

but maybe someone else had a better install and can tell you how it whent.

but also maybe its just your box that is wrong. it would be better to make a new one than to buy new drivers for now

Ya the reason I was thinking JBL since my friend has thier speakers (not subs just speakers) in his altima and they sound really really good. So I figured I MAY give them a chance.

Before spending almost 300 in a store on a product over 2 years old. You should try putting you're subwwofers in a ported enclosure. Have they always just made "noise" or have gotten like that over time? If they got worst over time then yes i would suggest getting something new, and the GTO series bandpass enclosures where a very good product, do not over power them though.

They have always made SOME amount of just noise but I just cracked it up to not having a filter to get rid of high frequencys and having to run it off of the "REAR" RCAs. But latley it's been getting worse.
But now I'm really torn since I do love my Pioneer products (I need front speakers as well so what ever I go with for subs I will match the brand up front)but I know that the JBL will sound better and I know that with that loaded enclosure the box is perfect for the sub.

Well I think I'm going to try my subs in a ported box. I'm thinking it may just be my amp that's going since it is really old one taht I got from a friend and I know it has been abused in the past.
Now I have a question about my subs and getting a new amp. My subs are rated 50-350watts RMS and the amp I'm looking at to power both my subs is a mono block that makes 400 watts RMS at 2 ohms.
How would I set that up so that it's safe for the amp since the subs would still want 300 watts right?
Sorry for all the questions but thats how you learn right.
