yeah i have just one run from alt to bat, buts is only like a foot and a half and its 3/0 i also made the negative from the alt go to the chassis of the body with 3/0. so it should be pretty good, it sucks though becuase i cant get an upgraded alt. but im getting 2 yellow tops real soon

i have an 1987 nissan hardbody pickup, i phoned this alt shop i know and he said for that model, the only thing i could do is like put a seconde alt in. but that would put me in the wrong class. the alt i have right now is only putting out 60 amps. i asked the guy if he could rebuilt it for higher output but he said no =(

id call one of the main HO alt companies and see what they can do for you. Ohio Generator or Powermaster would be my choices. My personal opinion is to stay away from Iraggi alts, although many others have had good experiences with them. Also I just had a 300 amp Excessive Amperage alt literally catch on fire after about 9 months of use in my truck. So Id stay away from them aswell.

Even if you have to put in a 2nd alt, whats the big deal there? It will bump you up in IASCA but theres only a couple IASCA shows a year in BC anyway...and even if you get moved up theres still good competition in pro-stock. Sometimes the only way to really force yourself to get loud is to go against the big guns and get smoked a few times. I dont see how fun it is competing against high school kids who have pinched their pennies for years bagging groceries to buy a setup and see how loud it is.
