Ok, obviously a 4" will not give you anything great in terms of bass, but the great minds at Audi, figured that this would have to do in the front doors. So my question is what is the best possible 4" driver, yes SQ is my main concern. I might be able to fit in a 5.25" I have yet to take the door apart. So as of know I need advice with a 4". I really like how Focal’s sound, but if need be I can use the Focal tweeter and crossover with some other 4” driver.

Macrom EXT 4.0's are great sounding speakers. Very comparable to Morel and Focal speakers.

An excellent 4" that can actually belt out it's share of midbass is the old Rockford Power 4. Nice driver. Canton makes a sweet 4" too.

The mid is very important - try to listen to as many as you can.

from my experience and extended listening to them, the following will all make fine choices:

Scan Speak Revelator 12MG31

Seas Lotus 4"

Morel WR4

Canton 4"

of the four the rev is my favorite. don't think you can possibly go wrong with either of the first two...
