need some help with this:
i got a stock rockford fosgate 6 disk MP3 player that i love and dont want to change it out (even though i know it will fix my problem). anyways i used a lineout converter going to my EQ then splitting to my 2 amps. i am getting a constant high squeel that stays at the same pitch and increases as you turn up the gain on anything (not alternator noise). now i unplugging my EQ and went straight to my amp and didnt help any so i know its my line out converter. i have already upgraded my big 3 and the amps are not touching any metal. is there anything that can be done to fix the noise by another filter of something?
i have a good stinger LOC, might try grounding the deck. does it matter if you ground it to the exact same location as the amp? its just the the body
Keep grounds as short as possible. NO your deck does not need to ground where your amp does. Just find a nice place to ground as close to the device as possible, sand with some good sandpaper and ground with nut and bolt preferably. Try moving the ground on the device you think is the problem. It could be picking up noise from something else. ALSO, try moving your RCA's around. They could be the noise source also. Keep them away from any power wires.
