I use to own one with the 28band EQ, it was pretyt neet and I didnt use any of its functions really. If you like 12db xover and plan on going active this is a pretty sweet setup, easy to use and you can save multiple preset EQ settings. I couldnt tune an EQ just by ear though, 28 band is just to much hehe.

Simple, definitely, they are really easy to use. The remote you use to control it looks pretty dated in current installes, especially since you are suppose to use that as your main source to control volume, although I doubt anybody really did it that way for very long.

I initially purchased one thinking the EQ would solve all my problems, an EQ in the hands of a rookie can do more harm then good. Its a cool EQ but the xover slope just isnt worth mucn anymore IMO. Although if I found a nice mint one, I wouldnt mind giving it a try again, maybe I am to harsh on 12db slopes?

I didnt use it mutch but boy did I ever think it looked cool.

^ Here's an option...

The main volume control on the EPX could be modified to switch outboard or even intergrate (the switching) into some CD player. and have a selector switch to switch from deck volume or EPX volume. with the EPX remote hidden in the glove box or center console etc. So you could actually use the EPX volume instead of the deck..... which would be alot quieter at low volume.
