These were normally paired with a 6" ID driver, correct? Have you considered the ID8? or the Illusion Audio 6" or 8"? Mr. Marco has a sweet sounding 8" Morel you can ask him about. And the Seas Lotus 6" always seems to be a good choice.

Hi Eddie,

Yes the CD2's and CD1 Pros have been often mated with either the IDQ6 or CXS6. But if we're talking about the mini horns, then I wouldn't suggest the IDQ8 and definitely not the ID8. Both of those drivers don't have the top end to be mated with the minis.

The Morel 8's work well, and the Seas Lotus Refs would be a good match too, as long as you have the processing power to deal with the upper end breakup and rising freq response.

When I had the CD2 mylar minis, I had great results with USD PROs (a modified Dynaudio 17W75).

Beyond listening to someone's set, I don't if there's somewhere to audition them.

On another note...I know that you want to try something other than Focal, but I actually found that the Polykev's worked pretty good with my horns too.
