I need opinions on which set of components to run up front, they are 5.25s.
Also I have a JL 300/4. should I, and How should I go about wiring them in without a crossover. What advantages are there to this? I'm new to this, but learn fast.

thanx

it all depends on your listening tastes. Both sets are great, The type x have a more laid back sound to them, where as the Focal are a little harsh to some people. I;d take the Focal over the two.

When you say that you want to wire them without the crossover, you mean you will be using some sort of active crossover right? you will be wiring both mids, and tweet to the amp, but if your amp doesn't have the right xo points, it can be difficult without a 2-way crossover. if you want to compeltely remove the crossover aspect of the setup, I wouldn't go that route.

ok, I was thinking I would go with the Focals up front, thnx for closing the deal. I don't think I'm going to confuse things to much on the amp side since the 300/4 should be able to power my fronts and rears nicely.

BUT

I just got back from my local install shop and told them I would be using the Stinger HPM 4g wiring kit to hook up my 300/4 and 500/1. will this be bad if my battery is in the trunk right next to the setup,? am I going to have to step up to a different gauge?

What kit or products would be best for these two amps. It sucks because, I'm already halfway through installing my Stinger kit so no returns. And on top of that the cap that came with the kit has posts that seem to only accept 4 gauge.

damn

4 gauge should be plenty, i have a pdx 1000.1 and two pdx 2.150 which is about 1600 watts rms on four gauge and my lights barely dim at all and the amps stay nice and cool. Just use two runs, one power and one ground and you should be fine.

Alpine Type R's over the Polyglass.

Or Focal Access.
