I'm searching for information on how to get started in SQ/SPL and car shows.

A couple questions:

-Where can I find info or a checklist for what i need to get started
-Where can i find competitions in the Hamilton/Niagara/Toronto area?

Any help is greatly appreciated
AB

there's lots of doing sq in southern ontario. the best way to start is to get a membership in one of the organizations, IASCA is the biggest org in ontario, so you'd be best off joining us in IASCA, then start getting the car into shape. If you have MSN, add me, I'm sassmastersq@hotmail.com. Sorry for the bad typing, I've got a squirmy 8 month old in my arms lol

Also I would add to read as much as you can. then read some more. When reading though a tech article, or someones post, if they mention something you are not farmiliar with, add that to a list of thigns to find out. Going to shows, and being involed with the hobby is a great way to get into it, but having a bit of knowledge to start with will get you much farther when talking to the pro's, opposed to them having to explain everything they are saying to you, not that they would mind; just you will get more out of it with the understandign of the concepts and princepals.

edit: oh and by the way, there is tons of great info on this site, but the problem is that it is often burried under a small tiny hard to find search button... it's your friend. http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/online/search.php

Listen to the Sassmasters advice. An judge that you can learn from is worth 1000 bad ones that won't teach you. Be patient it's an learning curve. Ask lots of questions.Document all that you've done in instalation changes ect. When compeating have fun and you have to learn to be a bit humble. Weekends are for showing and learning. Week nights are for changing and tuning for the next event. Make an plan of atack. And have fun. Oh join the sound leage that is sponsered in your area. Remember theres bound to be at least one sytem better than yours. Learn from there's. Just do the best you can with what your given.
