specs dont tell much of the story when you are dealing with audio, unless you know how everything was measured.
Total harmonic distortion, for example... everyone lists THD at 0.001% or whatever, but do they all use the same testing procedures?
the only advice i can give you about F#1 is to listen to it, which is MUCH easier said than done.
I have only heard one car with it, and it was a lambo gallardo. absolutely glorious.
the owner suggested i bring my favorite "real" non-burned cd, and i did. i heard things in the music that ive never picked up on, for instance in one passage, you can hear people speaking in the background.
on most systems, it sounds like wind, with most of the F#1 catalog i swear i could almost understand the words.
as much as anything else though, the performance is in the set up.
you will NOT buy F#1 from the dealer down the block, it has to be an approved alpine dealer who is trained in the install and set up of the gear.
very nice, very very expensive.... worth it?
maybe.
would i buy it if i had the money to throw away?
probably.
