List price is 699. cdn, but if you talk nice you can probaly find it for 500.
More features than you need, but it has 3 pairs, 4v pre-outs, crossovers, eq, time alignment, etc.
I'd go for the HD radio because i travel in the U.S. a lot.
Just my opinion, but i think it would match the rest of your high quality equipment nicely.
Good Luck! | Are you sure about the features you mentioned on the 9861? I was looking at that deck as one of my options and it seems to be limited to one bass and one treble control for eq and it doesn't have T/A. |

| thanks for headsup i will look into the Clarion DRZ9255 as well.
For decks like Eclipse CD7000/5000, Clarion DRZ9255, and the higher end alpines, they all have time alignment, xover, EQ, etc.
I dont think the Naka CD700ii/500 have those features.
for the same price range, does the Naka have better sound quality since it's lacking those processing stuff (more $$ put into better components maybe)?
my amps have xover so I don't NEED xover on deck, but time alignment sure is nice. IF I go for Naka CD500, will I need to buy extra hardware to get time alignment? OR.... will the naka have good enough sound quality (and hence good imaging) to make up for the lack of time alignment?
Hope that makes sense.... sorry for the noob questions |

| I was wrong! Good thing i didn't buy the 9860, I was told by a suposedly knowlegable salesman, that it had all the features of the 9855 + dvd.
Looked up specs and no it doesn't have TA or EQ.
Specs on the 9965 look good, but 1500.00? Really?

No they don't have TA but they put the extra time and money into better internals, disc handling systems, and better D/A's. Like I said it has none of the flash and dash stuff but a very nice sounding deck.

| Alright then can I say that the Clarion DRZ9255, Eclipse CD5000/7000, and my old Alpine 9833 are more like an "all-in-one" solution since they have TA, xover, and EQ, etc. Whereas the Naka 500/700 is a pure CD deck which plays CD (and does a very good job at it) and do nothing else.
So if I plan to buy seperate hardware EQ, processor, etc., then I should buy Naka.
But if I am just gonna buy a deck without hardare EQ, processor, etc., then Clarion, Eclipse, and Alpine are better choices.
is that about right? |

| PRS880 by Premier if you want T/A and reliability
I still do not trust Eclipse and Nak for reliability

| How much should I expect to spend if I am to buy Clarion DRZ9255 locally? MSRP is $1500CAD but I know car audio stuff has huge mark-up (lesson learned from my Alpine 9833...)
maybe around $1200 like zzzzzzzzzz mentioned? |
