x2 on the led zeppelin.

I dont have a PROPER set up in my car yet, but my paradigm studio monitors ooze honey when I play that tune.

I've been buy up all the Re-Mastered Led Zepplin. I had all the originals on vinyl, then bought cd's, now the re-masters. They got my share of bux.

As for SQ songs, anything by Joe Satriani. Apparently he's an SQ fanatic. OCD.

Part of the time I'm playing pop, rock & roll, and just play rock for the most part.

Other part of the time I'm playing electronica, mostly unknown for the most part, but generally just a few artists like Tangerine Dream, Bjorn Lynne, and Allister Brimble.

Of the three, my favs are:

Allister Brimble - Assassin
Bjorn Lynne - Space Deliria 2000
Tangerine Dream - Stratosfear

For testing and showing off however, I just love Timewarp and Bachbusters published by Telarc, nasty stuff... :-)

Disagree with Metallica's 'One'. Awesome tune -- but the production is just crap -- they cranked up the drums and the high midranges to the point where the recording is almost devoid of bass guitar (some issues with their bass player at the time) and the low bass is so saturated that it sounds 'tinny'.

Kill Em All is okay, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets, while two of the greatest metal albums of all time, are terribly produced IMHO. Too scratchy, not enough volume on the bass guitar and drums.

But -- Metallica's Black album is a constant when I'm testing out equipment or tuning.

Also of note, Metallica's Load and Reload are also good for tuning -- I've found the drums are louder here than on the Black album.

For an incredible sound experience, though, (not necessarily for tuning) must go with Symphany & Metallica -- Every band on my eq is dancing.

Pantera's Far Beyond Driven album is awesome as well -- though I have to tune down the highs for that -- some tracks (Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills) have Dimebag Darrel at his shrieking best.

And for pure electronica when tuning, Madonna's Imaculate Collection is superbly produced. I'm not a fan of most of the tunes on it, but it'll put your highs, mids and subs through a hell of a performance.

Eagles - Hotel California (album Hell Freezes Over). The soundstage is really nice, and you get a bit of everything in this tune.

Rebecca Pidgeon - Spanish Harlem. I have to agree with DoubleXL with this one. It'll also bring out just about any rattle you have in your car.

Manowar - Achille's Agony and Ecstacy (the 5 minute drum solo bit). You should have the impression that you're the one playing the drums.

Dream Theatre - Hollow Years. Just sounds good imho.

Dream Theatre - You Not Me. Has some nice bass in it.

Pirates of the Caribbean : At worlds end - Drink Up Me Maties : Nice dynamics in this one, great presence in the horns too. And, few nice bass parts...

the corrs - what can i do (live hdcd)

this is my favorite song at the moment. a small symphony in the background, very nice acoustic guitar, clean drum kit and a very rich voice to top it all off.
