I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.

So hopefully I'll see a new amp in a week or two, according to Orca. In the meantime, I've decided to test my luck with the Focal product again

Sitting in my trunk is a FP 1.800 and 27V2 subwoofer I can't wait to get it all together!

This means I have a JL 10W1V2 and a e2150 amp for sale PM me if you're interested!

Time to bump my buddy's thread! Anyone got more solutions? I drive the same car, and have this problem too.

Um... I was reading this thread earlier and was thinking I'd try some of these tricks out to get rid of my own alternator whine... well... so far, it disappeared today... but, I've yet to figure out at what price.

I rolled over a... um.... that side-walk thingy that seperated the exit from the parking area in the parking lot (didn't see it backing up and turning). And, the whine hasn't been heard since... I just hope I didn't damage anything too severly under the car... and that the whine is gone for good ! lol

i dont know if this has been said already cuz i didnt read all six pages.

but get your power and ground for every single component from the battery. so run ground back to the distribution block in the trunk, and get 12 volts and ground from the battery, ignition can stay on the steering column.

i had the same alternator whine when i first powered up my system. but i resolved that issue by doing that i just said. now theres no noise at all

Haha well I guess it's time to update a little bit.

New amp came in. The whine and noise is still present, but is better than before. It's obviously a ground loop now, and I'm working on tracing it. The problem with the previous amp turned out to be a blown component to the rear speakers. I must say my sound it a lot more full-bodied now

Methodmann0666 and I are currently working on revamping the entire setup, not the least of which will be checking all the grounds and power leads from the alternator. I'm also going to try a little different strategy for grounding the whole thing, we'll see how it works out.

We've already installed my new Yellow Top battery and the fibreglassing work on the new subwoofer enclosure will continue this weekend. The new additions to the car are a Focal Power 1.800 amplifier and a Focal 27V2 subwoofer. It'll be getting 600W at 2 ohms in a nice sealed enclosure.

I'll post up some pictures of the progress next week!

well that round about way is the reason there is a ground loop. i had the same problem when i first turned on my system. everything is now fed directly to the negative post on the battery.
no problems

this was why i got a wine in my set up . the 0g wire wjen tested had a ohm of .6 ,so i redid the neg and no more wine !
so a wire to the battery is not thr best way (sometimes)
