| I have been looking on-line and I have found many model numbers of 6.5
door speakers from MB Quartz.
what do you guys have installed that you think sound good?
Let me know.
p.s. I'm looking for some as well as my brother and his freind.
My brother's freind has a budget of 100 per pair and my brother and i might be able to go up to 200 for a pair.
L.

It's easy to add a ton of equipment yet it's most difficult to make a great sounding system with less. |

| Off-axis, I like metal tweets. On-axis - personal choice. Some of the best bang for buck components are(in no particular order):
Alpine Type X(mellow with good detail)
CDT EF(mellow, but still got good detail)
Boston Pro(on a bright side)
MBQuart Q(really bright)
ED6500
Diamond Hex
Arc Audio ACS or KAR series for low budget

| Are you looking for components, coaxials or raw mids?
I recently auditioned some Phoenix gold RSD 65CS, the ones recently reviewed in Car Audio mag.
Wow... for $50-100US they are great.
I have Alpine type Xs and love them, but they can be hard to find at your budget.
Had some Clarion SRS series stuff a while back, very decent and can be had in retail stores for your budget.
Coax, I know nothing about, except that the Pioneer Revs get great recommendations.
Bare mids... heh, Seas, from http://www.madisound.com
Check http://www.zaphaudio.com/6.5test/ for recommendations and test data. |

| I have the mbquart reference series components. They're pretty good for 200 dollar speaks.
If i was doing it again, i'd go for their QSC216.

| i like my infinity kappas, very clean at loud volumes, and i have them crossed low...60hz 24db/oct, and they still don't distort even with hip hop bass heavy tracks and at very high volumes...30/35 on my alpine 9833...they are getting 110 watts each mid driver though, and are actively set up...separate amp for mids, tweets etc...

The pleasure of saving money lasts a couple of weeks, but disapointment does not go away. A piece of mind, proud ownership, and satisfaction will last a lot longer. A couple of hundred bucks more will go a long way, and should not break your bank too much.

| Seems you were sold on MBQ prior to starting this thread, and I assume you wanted to hear positive feedback. And they are fine drivers, they are not the end all be all drivers they were once considered in car audio.... but they are very good quality and if they make you happy (no reservations about their sound) then for goodness sake buy them. Dont read into this anything negative, just buy with your eyes open since there are many products that can perform at or near their sonic level and price point. |

Yeah i would love a pair yet the 350 price tag for a set of 6.5's is a hard pill to take. I did hear about CDT yet I have never heard one in action.
The quest continues.

| I recently paid around that price for some Morel Components from forbidden audio.. I wasn't too sure about paying that much, but then again, its well worth the extra bucks you pay, I got an amazing set of 6.5" and my ears probably appreciate it more haha !!!
