| I have the option of going fully active with my Alpine PRA-H400 or to use the phase correcting passive crossovers that came with my Alpine SPX-177r set.
Any suggestions on which way to go?

| Passives=easy with good sound quality
active=flexibility with probably greater sound quality ... eventually |

| I would go active, if you start off with the same xover points as your passive set, you will get nice sounding results from the first try.

| I had some extra time and speaker wire so I tried hooking them up both ways. There is no comparison, the fully active set up is way clearer. The x-overs added a buzz type sound around the x-over points that was quite noticeable.
My PRA-H400 adds road noise when the subwoofer RCA's are hooked up whether the subwoofer amps are powered up or not. But when I play my Sirius radio which runs through the PRA the noise isn't very noticeable. I am going to upgrade my subwoofer RCA's but am open to other suggestions on how to get rid of this noise. I've hooked the PRA and deck up to several different power and ground locations but nothing changes except to unplug the subwoofer RCA's.
Ideas please!!!
