Hey Guys my first post!
I have spent a good month reading pretty much every post on this web page trying to find the answer I am looking for and after not finding what I was looking for I figured I would just ask. so here it goes!

I have a 2003 Cadillac CTS, and I have started putting a system in it.
Not really an SPL system or an all out SQ system just something to please myself really.
I like my music LOUD!!!! Really LOUD!!! all ranges of it. the problem I have is what do I need to get my mids and highs to keep up with the bass.
I will say rigt now I am a huge JL audio fan, always have and always will be everything in my car now is JL and I would like to keep it that way.
I guess what I am asking is... what do I do for a GREAT sounding, LOUD speaker to match my bass.

The other thing I thought I might mention is yes I have an all leather interior.
everyone tells me I will be fighting a losing battle with this car

THanks guys all the help will be greatly appreciated.
Andrew

Get 4 pair's of JL's component speakers and cram them in kicks and doors - that will do the trick.

Don't forget to power them with atleast 1000watts each.

Once the install is done, set up an appointment to get your hearing checked!

or you can always buy something better then JL

THought I should probably tell you what I have right now!

2 12" JL W7's in a Ported Box. exactly to JL spec.
1 1000/1 with another one on the way. just ordered it from ebay.
My mids and highs are still factory Bose equipment. But I do have a Pioneer AVIC-D3 head Unit

Some better components up front, perhaps the pioneer ts-c720prs set and a bunch of power, probably 100-150 watts per channel.

JL is mostly ok, but for the money you can get MUCH better gear.

The PRS set is a fantastic sounding comp set but certainly not one designed for the listener who justs wants to crank them and let 'em wail. And overpowering them that much is not a good idea as they are a very efficient driver.
Actually a set from JL would be a better choice in this system IMO.

If you really want a loud high quality set I would suggest the Boston Acoustics Pro series with 200rms+ per side.

I have been super impressed with my MTX TXC components for keeping their composure when I decide to really lean on them.

Hmm, I agree as to the sound, although I have the 5.25" set.

I'm using them in some small bookshelves and hammering on them pretty hard and they seem to tolerate it just fine, so I was just going off my experience so far.

I don't know what the PRS are!
But I have been looking into those BA Pro's and they seem pretty nice.
not a bad price either!
BOSTON ACOUSTICS SPZ60 6.5 these are the ones you are talkin about?

If I put 150 watts RMS to these they would wail...

So what about the rear doors just put a set of 2 way coax in?

PRS is from the Pioneer Premier line. They're nice.

Most people will tell you to just forget about the rears altogether. IF you decide you want rear speakers a basic set of coaxials is fine.
