BSM-160 Mid Bass
they are a really hard hitter and sound very good
Where do you get AVI? (other than emailing them and hoping for a response) And what would a pair of BSM-160s cost?

Since you can't seem to edit posts on this board...

I managed to contact AVI and the BSM-160 are $290 or so, after a 20% discount (don't ask, maybe I sounded sexy on the phone...)
Not nearly as bad as I had been lead to believe, but still a bit out of my price range.

I just got tim to upgrade my front stage from avi bsm 3 ways to morel supremo 2 way (9in).

The avi's were great, but the supremo's sound alot better imo, more mid bass and overall better sounding (possibly from going active w/f#1).

Supremo 9's are pricey though,900 bucks each.

What can I afford, or what am I prepared to spend?

lol, I can probably justify around $180-200ish each, although like most people, I perfer to get more for less.

I missed getting a set of BSM-160s and some of their 1" tweets for $300. Slightly frustrating, but I'll live

Well to be exact it was 949.99 each, which makes it 1899.98 for both 9's.

So scan speak, Dynaudio, Focal, and Morel midbass drivers are either in the range or are at least close.

I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.

Excel, SS, dyns are definitely on the list. I haven't heard much Focal, and what I have had experience with didn't seem to sound as good as it "should".

I'm definitely not in a hurry, but damn straight I've been scribbling down model numbers from this thread.
