Feedback for Focal KX46 Sub

I'm going to use this 18" beauty for my SQ setup but i could not find any reviews nor feedback on the net. I'm wondering if anybody had any Focal subs and how good are they. I'm looking for feedback from people who actually had focal subs (or even better if someone had the same sub I'm stll trying to figure out to get sealed ported maybe plexi or mirror ro showcase the sub invert mounted or not ......

Also this is a quad voicecoil (each voicecoil is 1 ohm) so what are my option in terms of final load ? (i'm not interested in anything under 1 ohm)
Even 1 ohm load i have been told is not clean and shouldn't be used for SQ setup but i'm not sure if that's just a myth or there is some truth to it that running an amp at 1 ohm produces more dirty power or not.

Thanks in advance

I have a 27v2 but I have yet to hear it in my car Car starter season means my fibreglass probably won't get done until February or March.

I have, however, heard it in other cars and quite like it.

I have not heard the one you're looking at, but I have seen it. I could not fathom why you would need an 18" sub in a car, especially for SQ. I use two 18" self powered Yorkville subs at 1500W each to DJ dances with 700 people in a warehouse and it's STILL freaking loud!

The 27KX's are a very musical sub, however, I've found they dont really like to be beat on, and the don't play overly deep. I still love mine though...

The 46KX is a rediculous sub, I have heard it in an infinite baffle application, with two Focal monoblocks powering a pair of coils each at a 2ohm load. Almost nausiatingly deep bass. Huge amounts of out put, and sounds surprisingly impressive too (for an 18). I would not run that beast sealed though, must be ported at least.

Thnx for your reply i'm just wondering if this is one of those subs that doesn't sound too good unless you feed it a lot of power or on the contrary this would be a nice sq sub with losts of low bass given the right amount of power

i was also curious what do u mean by infinite baffle ? Like building a free air type of setting and using my trunk as a box ? Because i plant to build a custom made box just for this sub !

I have a 40KX in a large sealed enclosure I am running it off a Audison VRX1.500 at 1 ohm it is a great sounding sub. I must say that it does like alot of power and it takes it well.

thats not an sq driver thats an spl driver
I've used many of them and all in ported enclosures not a bad sounding sub but more tailored for volume if you want a better balance of quality and spl go with the 33kx
