since when is having a big capacitor a problem? theres alot of amperage draw having 4 amps.

and as reference to your "comp set and woofer with amps for both? comment.

thats wut i have dipshit..i just made the 3way comp set a 4 way stereo configuration and then theres a woofer. and all the w7's can be turned off independently. so i could use the 8s with no 12 or the 12 with no 8s.

also, for a 4 way ACTIVE front setup, u need 8 channels of amplification. find me one amp that puts out xxxrms/8 channels.

now im gonna stop before i get angry and flame.

i dont see a problem in that.

a pro? i installed everything to specs in the space that i had in the recommended areas for each speaker. i tested the mid and tweeter in various locations at various angles for a good month or 2 before i made the a pillars. and i found the on current angle to be the best for sound and the best that avoided echo between left and right channels. and dont u even f**king say anything about kick panels. because the do NOT work in a truck. the drivers and passengers legs alter the sound WAY to much. and i'll be putting it on an RTA this weekend to level match each speaker and tune each equalizer so each side is equal for each position to further enhance the imaging. also my processor has a little thing called time alignment for each of the 8 stereo channels independent from one another.

now im pissed. go f!st yourself....douchebag

An RTA may not be your best bet to help you with imaging. With the amount of speakers your using, you may have some phasing issues to contend with and you can't tell that you have phasing problems with any RTA. I dont see any problem with using lots of speakers in an SQ car, it just makes more work for the tunner. Your work looks top notch, no question. So if your ability to tune is as good as your building ability, I'm glad your arent in my IASCA region. I dont need the extra competition.

well thank you fozzzzz.

luckily i can switch phase for each set of speakers on the fly as well and i've tested every combination. some music sounds better with different phases.

i love active

I'd love to hear this beast - superb job on the install - looks to me you covered every angle and thought though all scenarios to accomplish your goal with your vehicle. Why be generic like every other SQ car out there! I think everyone is smacking themselves for not thinking outside the typical setup that's been done for years!

You have real talent in what you do and I think your A-pilars are absolutely wild - even unfinished. I wish I could put them in my 07 Honda FIT but - F'N air bags are in the way.

Let us all know how you do in SQ competitions - Let's hope your ears are as accurate as your work!

Cheershats off to you!

Its awsome work and 90% of "pros" wouldnt even phantom doing this...because they cant. Once its finished i think its time to make youre way to SEMA

I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.

exactly why i commented in the first place. (nothing to do with the install) i think the install is great and i bet it sounds awesome, but a thread to simply point to another thread on the same topic is lame

nice install though thats for sure

It was obvious to me that Johnvroom did not see the pics of the install. Others maybe couldn't see that through the flames tho..

OP guy - you DO have too much stuff. Really you do. But you got it all in and you made it look nice and I bet it sounds good too. For that - good for you.

Now - 'tis the ****ing season so everyone settle the **** down ok? Play nice

Now I can make vaguely informed comments...

1- this is precisely what SQ needs, typically a SQ vehicle is not all that amazing to look at (SPL usually at least has a large woofer to incite attention). Many SQ installs are stealth... there is nothing there to attract people to the good side of the force (SQ) and good sound is generally not enough. This truck is an attention getter, it is probably unbelievably loud, this is what people (the Wii generation) would lust after power power power. There is a Dodge Magnum that competes (IASCA and MECA) that is also a nice eye catcher. This type of install is the recruiting poster for IASCA/ USACi/ MECA.

2- the center sub column is big... it might affect the kick/ door drivers sound on the opposite side

3- the new shiny and smooth yellow surfaces make the unmodified parts of the truck look... pedestrian. The integration is very good but the dash scrams GMC and the install says Star Trek. I dont make suggestions because this is your baby and you know what you want.

4- As far as sound goes, the individual pieces all sound good but now you have 10+ drivers operating independently.. good luck... you are obviously obsessive compulsive (your overly emotional flaming posts and your obsessive build) and that can help you (you are very thorough) or drive you mad (too many adjustments and ways to adjust them).

5-great and I mean GREAT job maintaining the utility of the vehicle (no cut through, the passenger seat is still there)

6- I am not convinced more drivers is better, but if you compete it I may hear it, then I could change my mind.

side bar- line drivers are all the vogue in high end home theater and 2 channel audio and that affect may be of value to you.
