I'm looking to get into car audio and I was wondering if MTX was worth my money

MTX is a fine brand name. If you like the product, you should have no problems with it. Just make sure you install it correctly.

I have only seen MTX in a SQ installation once.... wow that is unusual now that I think of it... as far as high SPL subs go I have seen JL, Kicker, JBL, RE and Memphis on some high end SQ vehicles and DD, Atomic, Oz, on some SQ armature level competition (sounded darn good BTW) the MTX was an 8" and the overall system was excellent. She would swap woofers when doing SPL ,she was running a MTX 15" in her PT cruiser (150+dB)

I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.

There is another thread on an MTX comp set... haven't heard any of the new ones, there are a lot of surprising products out there so I would say listen first then buy, otherwise the only thing anyone would own are the "preferred brands" (aka Focal, Dynaudio etc.) and that would just be blah

the comp set I heard before was competent and the SQ was good for the low price point.
