hello friends..i am looking for a 12" or 15" subwoofer and need ur opinion to decide according to my needs.
i just purchased an AUDISON LRX 1.1K and a 10" JL AUDIO W3 V2D2(my mistake)
i am not pleased with the sound quality of the jl sub and took a 10" thinking it will be the best for sound quality(my mistake again)
so after doing many more mistakes i knew what i needed.
is there a woofer out there which may give the sound quality of ID Q sub and also get very very loud when needed.
i don't like ID MAX( too expensive) this comes nowhere near the quality of an ID Q..but ID Q DOESN'T GET LOUD ENOUGH FOR ME but i just love its sound.
i may be demanding the best of both worlds but i am sure there are subs available in the market which may do this.
i have one more problem.. i can only choose from some specific brands because all are not available in my country..the avaiable are - jbl , pioneer, jl ,image dynamics, hertz, ground zero , alpine, boston acoustics ,polk and maybe FI

some subs in my opinions are pioneer ts 5102 spl, jbl gti or crown series, ID Q, hertz spl and don't know much about ground zero.

Maybe look into the IDQ V.3. They're supposed to have just as good SQ if not better than the V.2, but get lower and louder than the previous versions.

Supposed to be in between the IDQ V.2 and the IDMAX.

Choosing between the Hertz High Energy SPL lineup and IDQ is a matter of personal taste.

ID have a fuller, flatter response while the Hertz have a slight bump in response.
Both are good brands.
Audition both and decide according to your tastes.

You know where to audition them. Right?

I've heard Alpine Type-R's in a ported box, premiers in a ported, Infiniti's in a sealed. I still prefer the sound of my kicker in a sealed box to spec, goes deep, it's loud, and they look nice as well (Except for mine, the cat pissed on it, but still works fine).

The JBL (which gets spankin loud) sounds quite a bit different from a Hz or an ID (which dont get as loud) each can sound pretty realistic in the right system. And I generally dont recommend brands since with subs it really is about how well it matches up with the midbass and where the crossover is. I dont think the JL is a bad sub at all it just doesn't push all your happy buttons...

hmmmm given your conflicting requirements inexpensive, loud, great SQ... please define loud 130db? 140dB?

so what specifically did the JL do poorly?

I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.

To lazy to look back up, but did you say what kind of music you were going to be listening too on your system?

I finalised on two subs ID Q V.3 and BOSTON G5 ..they are for the same price here and now i need to pic one of those..couldn't find a deep comparison or review on any of these subs ...music preference- rock ,pop ,rap,classical...

will be getting two subs running off audison using full 1100rms at 1 ohm and also want to achieve 140db(just for fun) but sq is my major preference .

ID sells in India for a very honest price when you start to consider costs of import, customs, dealer margins etc.

IMHO, that guarantee's you a better bang for the buck.

Ultimate decision is yours. Go take the audition of the ID. Who's stopping you?

P.S.>> If you are targeting 140db, Consider the IDMax series and run them ported.

Just make sure that Audison has a damping factor of higher than 25 at 1 ohm. I would go with ID.
